Heritage Cross Country Guidelines
PHILOSOPHY AND GOALS
The goal for the Heritage Cross Country staff is to provide a challenging, individualized, self-motivated and safe program that will help your student/athlete in developing their academic, social, and athletics skills. Because of this we expect the best effort of each student regardless of what is trying to be accomplished. Our five key quotes that directly relate to our outlook on life and running are...
(1) Everyday is a great day
(2) Don’t waste a heartbeat
(3) Go with GOAL ORIENTED people
(4) GOAL ORIENTED people find ways
(5) Extra effort is the key to success.

We also have our own website. In order to get to our team website, you simply need to visit http://heritagecxc.weebly.com . Here you will find schedules, announcements, itineraries, pictures, and other valuable information.
Additionally, we will provide each runner with result sheets, and the upcoming meet itinerary on site.
BASIC RULES AND REGULATIONS
Each student/athlete will dress out and train each day and will attend all meets. So plan all family activities, appointments, tutorials/make-ups accordingly. Each student/athlete should make contact with a coach if they are missing practice for any reason (illness, emergencies, etc.)
SUPPLIES
Each student/athlete will be expected to have their training clothes, shoes, and a timing watch.
MEET DAY
Each student/athlete will be expected to be on time and dressed properly for each meet. An itinerary for each meet will be passed out before each race and posted onto http://heritagecxc.weebly.com as well. Departure times, directions, course maps, awards, race times, etc. will be included. The bus will leave at the time designated on the itinerary. If the bus is missed, then you are responsible for getting transportation to the meet to support your team. You will not participate. Each runner will wear a school distributed uniform and sweats with the team t-shirt on top. The meet begins the second the runner enters the bus and continues until the runner steps off the bus after the return trip. No one will be allowed to be taken to or from any meet unless they have had it approved by the coaches at least three days before.
Parents: your attendance is vital to the growth of your son/daughter as a runner. We strongly encourage your participation at races and with our boosters. We do ask one favor of you on race day. Please do not come within 100 feet of our tent area. Our runners need a place where they can feel comfortable and not be distracted from their pre-race agenda. If you need to talk to them, grab another runner to get them for you or talk to them when they get away from the tent.
